If you’ve been wondering about the progress of 50-by-50, let me assure you—I haven’t stopped filming! In fact, I’ve been doing more filming than ever, and I’m taking a more strategic approach to how I release the episodes. Instead of dropping them sporadically, I’m shifting to a schedule that feels more like a real television season, giving you a steady flow of content to look forward to.
Where I’ve Been So Far
So far, I’ve filmed in 14 states, with 11 states fully completed and 3 requiring a return visit for additional filming. Here’s where I’ve been so far:
- Fully Filmed: Alabama, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
- More Filming Planned: South Dakota, Nevada, South Carolina (to cook and explore more deeply)
A Smarter Release Strategy

When I first started releasing 50-by-50, I planned on doing episodes about once a month. But after seeing how that pacing felt, I realized that spacing them out too much wasn’t giving the series the momentum it deserved and kept fans waiting unreasonably. Instead, I’ve been filming ahead, getting more episodes “in the can” so that when I start releasing them regularly, they’ll roll out in a way that feels more like a TV season.
Here’s what you can expect:
- A bigger kickoff: Instead of just one episode at a time, I’ll start with a small batch of episodes so you can really sink your teeth into the journey.
- Regular releases: After the initial drop, episodes will come out on a weekly or biweekly basis.
- Mini story arcs: Some episodes will be grouped together when they naturally flow into each other, making it easier to follow my journey across the country.
What’s Next?
I’m still working out the exact timing of the release schedule, but I’ll be sharing updates once I’ve nailed it down. In the meantime, I’ll continue traveling, cooking, and filming—so that when 50-by-50 starts rolling out regularly, you’ll get a consistent, well-paced series that truly captures the experience.
